Saab Signs $5.4 Billion Contract With Brazil for 36 Gripen Jets

Saab AB has signed a contract valued at 39.3 billion kronor with Brazil for the development and production of 36 Gripen NG fighter, a victory for the Swedish company after it lost a deal with Switzerland. The order comprises 28 single-seat and eight two-seat Gripen NG aircraft, with deliveries to Brazil's air force expected to start in 2019, the Stockholm-based company said in a statement today.
