(Telecompaper) Kenyan operator Safaricom has signed a deal to distribute a new range of smartphones powered by Intel. Billed as the first smartphone with 'Intel inside' in Africa, the Yolo smartphone will be sold in Safaricom shops countrywide at the entry price of KES 10,999 and comes bundled with free 500 MB data. The Yolo model will run Android and sport Intel's new Atom processor Z2420 for emerging market devices. The phone will feature a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, FM radio, 5-megapixel back camera, expandable memory slot, HSPA+ modem support with Intel's XMM 6265 modem for global roaming and McAfee mobile security software.
