(Telecompaper) Samsung has revealed further details of its new Gear S2 smartwatch, the next-generation wearable device it previewed last month in New York. The 11.4 mm smartwatch runs Tizen, Samsung's proprietary OS, and comes with a 1.2-inch circular Super AMOLED 360-by-360 display with 302ppi. It features a dual-core 1 GHz processor, 4 GB of internal memory and 512 MB of RAM, with Samsung claiming 2-3 days of battery power from the 250mAh Li-ion. The device has a rotating bezel, along with the Home and Back buttons, which means users will have a quicker, more precise method to comfortably access notifications and applications, according to Samsung. Two versions will be available: the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 classic, with the former targeted at users who prefer a more timeless watch design, offering a black finish with a matching genuine leather band, while the Gear S2's design is more minimal and modern, with a dark grey or white band.
