Samsung unveils Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge

2014-09-03 15:44:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Samsung has unveiled the new Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge mobile devices at the Ifa trade show in Berlin. The Note 4 comes with a larger 5.7-inch screen with 2560x1440 resolution, supporting an improve Multi Windows feature for using various apps at once. The 16 megapixel rear-facing camera features a Smart Optical Image Stabilizer that counter-balances camera shake and automatically extends exposure time in dark settings. The 3.7 megapixel front camera offers a default 90-degree shooting angle and up to 120-degree wide angle. In addition, the device comes with the Fast Charging feature and Ultra Power Saving Mode to manage power, a built-in voice recorder with directional voice tagging and selective playback to isolate specific voices in a group conversation and an improved fingerprint scanner with what Samsung claims is the first UV sensor in a mobile device. The Note 4's S Pen has been upgraded to serve as the primary tool for using the device and ensure writing similar to using a fountain or calligraphy pen, Samsung said. The Galaxy Note 4 introduces a metal frame with a fluid curvature that blends with the device display. The new Galaxy Note Edge takes this a step further with a curved-edge screen that provides quick access to frequently used apps, alerts and device functionality, even when the cover is closed. The Galaxy Note 4 will be available in black, white, gold and pink versions in global markets starting in October, and the Galaxy Note Edge will be available in black and white in select markets later this year.
