Sanderson Farms drops Cumberland

Sanderson Farms has notified Fayetteville officials that Cumberland County is no longer being considered in its plans for construction of a $113 million plant that would employ nearly 1,000 workers. The company's decision was made known in an email to Russ Rogerson, executive director of the Economic Development Alliance, an arm of the Fayetteville Regional Chamber of Commerce.
