JOB DETAILS Position Title Spacecraft Control Engineer Reports to Satellite Operations Manager Department Technical Location EshailSat HQ and Teleport, Doha, Qatar Working Hours Onshift, 24x7, Standby duties Revised on 11082015 JOB PURPOSE ROLE Responsible for the monitoring and control of the inorbit EshailSat satellites, working within a shift system to provide 247 manning at the SCC. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES BEFORE LAUNCH Operations Project Planning and Implementation Participating in the development of software tools, methods and procedures to improve testing and measurement capabilities. Testing and assessing the viabilitycompatibility of new systems and equipment. Participating in the identification and assessment of new technologies. Training Attend all training as directed by the Satellite Operations Manager Attend Satellite Manufacturer training abroad and in Qatar AFTER LAUNCH Satellite InOrbit Operations Execute all planned operations of the satellites and ground stations according to predefined business processes, procedures and planning. Perform constant monitoring of the fleet and take immediate corrective action in the event of a satellite anomaly or ground system anomaly. Responsible for contacting oncall engineering staff in the event of a satellite or ground system anomaly and assisting in data provision, analysis and recovery. Fill the Handover Logbook Follow all Business processes and procedures Offline Activities Maintain overall proficiency with selftraining. Communication and Coordination Monitor and report all failures associated with the satellites performance Coordinate with CMC for Payload configuration Requests Whole of Life Continuous Training Attend intense training programs as required QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS Qualifications Experience CertificateDiploma in Telecom, IT, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent Bachelor preferred 5 years or more of experience in Satellite Operations 247 Good understanding of more than 1 satellite subsystem, Knowledge of Satellite Simulator Systems, Knowledge of a Satellite Monitoring and Control system EPOCH suite will be an advantage, Knowledge of DS2000 platform from MELCO will be an advantage. JobSpecific Skills Detail oriented, Must be able to understand and follow complex processes and procedures, Ability to work well under pressure, Good communication and interpersonal skills, Proficiency in English, Able to work in an international and multicultural environment, Good team player, Integrity, Flexibility and Respect.
