All it would takes is a fleet of high altitude planes, releasing millions of tonnes of sulphur dioxide into the stratosphere, deflecting the suns rays from planet earth. The start-up costs of this technique, called Solar Radiation Management (SRM) are around $10 billion, with running costs of around $5 billion a year.
