BusinessGreen: Scotland's renewable energy sector has received a further boost, after the government late last week approved an extension to one of the country's largest onshore wind farms. Energy Minister Fergus Ewing gave the green light to the proposed addition of nine wind turbines to the Mid Hill wind farm, near Banchory, which will take the number of turbines at the site to 34 and result in 102MW of total capacity, enough to provide power to more than 48,000 homes in the area.
