We are currently looking for a Sea Surface Temperature Senior Scientist to support our customer in Germany. Sea Surface Temperature Senior Scientist Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Oceanography Team in the Technical and Science Support Department, you will have the following responsibilities Support to the verification and validation oflevel2 products Support to verification and calibration activities for level1 products Support to the development of new tools for calibration andor validation as well as utilisation of existing tools Support to the development of new tools for product processing monitoring as well as utilisation of existing tools Investigation of anomalies and issues related to Level 1 and Level 2 product quality Support to the setup and operation of product quality monitoring and reporting tools Contribution to the analysis, assessment and maintenance of L 1L2 marine satellite data processors and algorithms Contribution to scientific development of algorithms to support CaiN al activities Contribution to the execution of scientific support studies. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and extensive relevant experience University degree in remote sensing, oceanography, meteorology, physics, or equivalent Good interpersonal skills in support of team work Satellite Sea Surface Temperature andor visible and infrared data sets Knowledge of the precursor mission to Sentinel3 SLSTR Calibration and validation of remote sensing products Development of calibration andor product validation methods Operational satellite data processing Scientific programming language skills including C, IDLIPVWave, ENVI or equivalent and optionally Fortran, Python Skills in writing technical and scientific documents Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
