Job Title Senior Analogue Design Engineer Job Reference Number SADE01 Job Description Purpose Job purposeDesign and Development of Analogue Products for the Satellite Market SPECIFIC DUTIES Provide RF design support subsystem analysis, circuit layout, component selection for relevant products and projects, taking full responsibility for the design from inception to the completion of final testing, including some of but not limited to Linear nonlinear power supplies Active control for RF SSPA LNA Switching Ferrites Analogue signal conditioning Multiplexing Conversion IC Design RF design 1GHz Baseband Filters Analysis Documentation Failure mode Thermal Parts Stress Radiation Worst Case Provide data input toand create design analysis documentation to be held within the CADM system. Input into the Engineering Design Process ensuring the flow works for all designs and projects. Provide technical support to o Other Design members to help crosspollinate ideas o The Drawing Office and Mechanical Engineer, providing information to and understanding their mechanical constraints on the design. o Assembly team, ensuring accurate and detailed build information is provided o Test Engineers to help specify test requirements, evaluate results and solve technical problems. Provide technical support to Project Managers, System Engineers and Responsible Engineers to achieve project deliverables on time and to budget. Contribute to design studies and technical proposals, as required to generate new business. Interface and provide technical leadership in Customers and Supplier meetings Peer Review of product design. REPORTSACTIONS Develop own skills under the guidance of Engineering and the RFE Engineering Manager. Weekly status report to Line Manager and relevant Project Managers. Participate in project meetings. Participate in Engineering Department meetings. Take ownership for completing actions on ongoing project work. Maintain good communication, teamwork and relationships with other departments Maintain accurate logbook with relevant design, results and references Maintain compliance to the companys Quality Management System QMS. Maintain compliance to the companys Health and safety Policy. Act in accordance with CDE procedures staff handbook Contribute to continuous technical improvement. Maintain a tidy and efficient working environment. Timely submission of weekly timesheets. QualificationSkills Essential Degree in ElectronicsPhysics Typically 5 years or more in the design of Analogue equipment A good understanding of relevant manufacturing processes Good communication skills Assessment of technical risk associated mitigation strategies Broad Analogue knowledge Lab skills Desirable Aerospace, Defence background Design for high reliability Knowledge and use of or similar ECAD packages Cadence OrCAD Layout Pspice Smoke This job description is a guideline to the main activities of the job you will initially be required to undertake.
