The incumbent in this role is responsible for the detailed engineering and field implementation of groundbased RFantenna systems and stations at SES. The mission focuses on the successful completion of projects with effective and efficient leadership and ownership of the full project life cycle. Key activities include active support on RFrelated aspects to Spacecraft Engineering, Spacecraft Operations, Ground Operations, Global Access Services and Sales Engineering. Responsibilities Deliver products, services, systems to customers within budget, specification and on time Either support or be responsible for Design, specify and implement groundbased Satellite Communication Systems RF systems including the tracking antennas for Telemetry, Tracking and Control TTC andor Payload Baseband and control room systems Satellite ranging systems Design, specify and implement fixed, transportable or mobile uplink or receiveonly stations Design subsystems and implement earth station equipment including antennas, HPAs, switch matrix, updownconverters, modulators and interfacility equipment Design, specify and manage the integration of measurement, communications and monitoring control systems including MC Systems Perform transmission analysis, in particular link budget calculations, and studies in support of business development, customer services and TTC Conceptual design of innovative satellite networks andor network elements and development of associated specifications for nextgeneration High Throughput Satellites Preparation of commercial documentation such as system requirements specifications, statement of works, technical system specifications, costtechnical proposals and contractual documents in coordination with other internal and external parties Collect internalexternal customer requirements, perform system design, setup budgets, handle procurements, manage installations and the operational handover of ground segment and communications systems Support Spacecraft Engineering and Spacecraft Operations during prelaunch activities at satellite manufacturer and during BeginOfLife InOrbitTesting phases Followup of delivered systems during lifetime operations and support Ground Operations teams at SESowned Teleports and at 3rd Party Teleports both in the US and worldwide as 3rd level escalation technical support Administer FCC compliance for SES facility licensing and antenna technical compliance Execute other telecommunicationsrelated projects Manage and build up successful technical customer and partner relationships Awareness and evaluation of relevant technological developments, market trends, competitive factors, customer requirements, standardization, licensing and regulatory aspects Travel as required across US worldwide to meet customers, partners and manage field implementation projects Provide multiple engineering and operations services to SES companies and partners Experience Qualifications Degreed in engineering with emphasis in RF, Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent Have min. 8 years of applicable professional experiences in RF engineering and implementing of telecommunications systems in the satellite domain Advanced understanding of satellite and terrestrial system design, satellite link analysis, modulation standards Operational knowledge of ground stations, carrier monitoring, geolocalization, InOrbitTesting Basic IP Routing Switching experience Cisco CCNA Routing Switching certification desirable DVB knowledge highly desirable Fluent in English Computer literacy AutoCAD, Matlab, MS Office, MS Project Proven projectbudget and time management experience Ability to integrate into andor lead crossfunctional andor virtual project teams Strong communication skills, analytical abilities, innovative spirit, business mind, coordination and priority setting abilities, problem assessment and solving, autonomy and team work, flexibility and mobility Proactive approach towards potential andor current customers Conflict management skills in a multicultural and interdisciplinary setup Excellent internal and external communication skills as well as teamspirit Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Deliver products, services, systems to internal as well as to external customers within budget, specification and on time Provide effective communication workflow of information Successful customer and partner relationships The incumbent will be required to access radio frequency roomsareas US citizen or permanent resident Our Offer Competitive salary package, coupled with a diverse array of challenges and development benefits.
