Senior Engineer, Network Planning Luxembourg Betzdorf Your Job As a Senior Engineer, Network Planning, you support network capacity and capability scaling on the SES terrestrial network to enhance service to customers at the lowest cost and by interacting with other teams to determine capacity forecasts and requirements. You will play a key part in developing a synergised terrestrial network within SES. Your Responsibilities Negotiate and recommend service contracts with vendors. Improve network availability whilst reducing network costs and adding value by increased capability and functionality of the procured services Analyse network connectivity and capability, planning and recommending integrated systems, networks and services Use multiple complex data reference points and software tools to manage the growth of the terrestrial network in terms of capacity, geographic reach and features, operating within the agreed Network Connectivity expansion policies and budgets Design, update and deliver formal reports to internal customers. Develop interactions with CRM as well as monitoring systems and work with other teams where necessary Provide support to Sales and Sales Engineering with quotes, rate cards and RFP response for all network connectivity requirements Participate in researching and procuring services from network vendors to support new SES product initiatives, such as teleport redundancy, voice requirements and cloud connectivity, exploring the use of automation where possible Coordinate with Vendor Management, Finance, Commercial, Legal and Marketing teams on budgets, accounting, tax and contractual matters Monitor Service Level Agreements SLAs compliance with vendors and interact with Vendor Management. Support logistics for upgrades, manage network upgrades and global network uplifts, coordinate with logistics teams on export compliance and tax Deputize for the Chief Engineer, Network Planning as required Your Experience Qualifications Bachelor Masters Degree level education Minimum 5 years experience in Business or Engineering Experience of the satellite communications industry is desirable but not essential Working knowledge of finance, accounting, logistics and general business practices Excellent inter personal skills and ability to work in multifunctional teams and with international customers is essential Project management skills and service delivery knowledge in a telecommunications environment Technical knowledge of data communications, such as Internet, Carrier Ethernet and Data Centre services Fluency in Microsoft applications, in particular Excel including formulae and pivot tables and any analytics platforms such as Power BI Fluency in English, any other language is considered as an asset Travel to trade shows and other SES offices as required Whats in it for you?
