A vacancy for a Senior Galileo High Accuracy Navigation Algorithms Engineer dfm has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Ottobrunn. You will contribute to the ongoing development of the next generation of EGNOS and Galileo in the field of system performance, architecture and algorithm development. You will join the Airbus Navigation Department at the Airbus site Taufkirchen near Munich. With more than 80 engineers and 20 years of experience it is one of the leading expert groups in Europe for the development and implementation of the European satellite navigation systems EGNOS and Galileo. Your responsibilities will include Development of system algorithms for high accuracy position and time determination and integrity services Management of performance budgets in combination with underlying system modeling Responsibility for the definition and assessment of performance figures of merit aligned to system requirements Optimization of high accuracy position determination algorithms on system and user level incl. ambiguity resolution Improvement of precise orbit determination algorithms and parameter adjustment processes Definition of integrity concepts for new use cases enabled by precise positioning Implementation of algorithms for performance tradeoff studies and detailed numerical simulation in the frame of the Airbus system analysis software customer interaction and technical management Required skills We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and experiences You are educated to a Masters Degree in Navigation, Geodesy, Physics, Mathematics, Informatics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent You are experienced in satellite navigation systems, in particular GPS or Galileo, and in parameter determination concepts You have mathematical background for algorithm development You have a good knowledge on system, receiver and user algorithms including advanced positioning concepts and particular knowledge in some of the following aspects PPP, ambiguity resolution, orbit determination, ionosphere modelling, ARAIM, integrity concepts.
