EUMETSAT is the European satellite agency for monitoring weather and climate. EUMETSAT is now embarking on a new and challenging development programme called EPSSecond Generation EPSSG, shaping the future of Europe in meteorology and climate monitoring, after the highly successful EPSMetop programme. Senior Instrument Engineer REF. VN1319 At the heart of the Low Earth Orbit Division of our Programme Preparation and Development Department, you will take responsibility for the instruments of the current and second generation of EUMETSAT Polar Systems. Whilst acting as the focal point for all instrumentrelated issues within the Division, you will liaise with our Partners ESA, NOAA, CNES and DLR on the provision of instrumentation for the current and next generation Metop satellites. Whilst following up the development of new instruments, you will support data processing and operation of instruments already in orbit. You will contribute to shaping a highly complex system for the future and interact with various space and ground segment teams. To be equal to the challenge, you will have a relevant degree and a strong background in spaceborne instruments gained through an extensive record in space systems development. This should have given you appropriate knowledge of satellite instrument data processing, highly developed analytical and presentation skills, and the confidence to lead and work as part of teams. Finally, you must be capable of working effectively in English and have a good basic command of French.
