Airbus Defence and Space is a division of Airbus Group formed by combining the business activities of Cassidian, Astrium and Airbus Military. It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy for a Senior Network Services Architect has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. You will be responsible for the overall standards and direction of network architecture for the Network Services UK group both locally and through support to the Network Services Competence Centre. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include In line with Enterprise Architecture principles, implement and maintain data network architecture. Maintain the technical architecture requirements for development, execution, and operations environments. Collaborate with project teams to provide infrastructure implementation estimates. Perform hardware sizing, update logical and physical database designs with changes. Assist in the development of infrastructure architectural guidelines, supporting in the definition of target state blueprints for technology architecture. Support in the definition of Infrastructure Architecture roadmap and decisively participate in the execution of transformational technology initiatives to evolve the portfolio towards desired state. Provide input to architecture design across all lifecycle phases of networkrelated projects. Mentor and assist with the technical development of other team members. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Extensive experience working with CCNP certification. CCIE, CCDACCDP certifications would be highly beneficial. Good Project Management experience on Network related topics. Proven architecture modelling skills. Experience in infrastructure design and management. Good understanding of divisional and group architecture standards. Experience leading international project and design teams and working in multicultural environments. Substantial conceptual understanding and operational experience of Cisco routing and switching, QoS, Network Access Control and wireless networks. Ability to provide a design interface to teams supporting realtime applications, especially Cisco videoconferencing endpoints and infrastructure and Unified Communications topics. Advanced understanding of security policy enforcement appliances firewalls, remote access gateways and clients, authentication systems would be appreciated. Understanding of proxy servers and content filtering methods including client configuration, authentication and chaining. Knowledge and experience of baseline and enhanced CAPSapproved encryption products. Experience of Bluecoat, Juniper SSG, Cisco VPN and ASA, RSA, F5 and Riverbed products an advantage.
