Whether the choice involves port-to-port or door-to-door strategies, the end customer is king, and devising strategies to quickly and efficiently meet customer demands is now outpacing just about any other activity in the logistics sector. "If you take a look at the old supply chain executive, they were basically moving pallets and containers and cartons into a distribution center and pushing them out to a store," says Doug Ceva, vice president of global customer solutions at industrial real estate giant Prologis.
