Lately, retail traders have been getting quite a lot of "protection" from multiple sources. In an article dated December 1st I discussed the NYSE's decision to protect investors from the depredations of electronically induced issues like the "flash crash," a recent sudden change in market prices which was just as suddenly reversed, by eliminating the stop-loss order, and the good-til-cancelled order.
