Summary An exciting opportunity to work on site supporting ESAs Mission Simulators. Objective Support to ESA teams in activities related to the development of simulators and utilization including support to specification, architecture, implementation, software problem solving, exchange and interfaces with external systems, data modelling verification, compliance with technical documentation, project reviews. Responsibilities Duties Modelling of systems including spacecraft, ground segment and other required auxiliary systems. Elaboration, development and promotion of tools for distributed and collaborative engineering. Support for mission simulation, science operations planning and scheduling and experiment operations verification. Qualifications Experience The candidate shall have a university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent. Extensive experience in software engineering, software development and configuration control methods, tools and standards e.g. ECSS. Handson experience in Programming languages C , Java User interface development Qt or alternatively other graphical toolkits like MFC, GTK, SWTSwing. Operating systems Windows and Linux, Essential Skills The candidate has knowledge or some of the following Mac OSX , Unix systems. 3D graphics OpenGL, OpenSceneGraph, Direct3D, Databases MySQL, Oracle, etc. Web development J2EE or .NET. Qualities Proactiveness and strong motivation are very important aspects to accomplish daily work, along with the capability to work in team in a multicultural environment. Multitasking is an important characteristic of the job.
