(Telecompaper) Pay-TV provider Sky Italia is set to imminently launch an MVNO in Italy followed by a fixed line telecommunications service and is headhunting an experienced CEO for the venture, reports local daily La Repubblica. Last year the company confirmed that it was planning to enter Italy's fixed broadband market in summer 2019 after signing a long-term agreement with Open Fiber. The pay-TV giant was then added to regulator Agcom's public register of communications operators (Registro pubblico Operatori di Comunicazione) at the end of 2018 and was reportedly in talks with Vodafone Italia and Telecom Italia about using their frequencies for a Sky-branded mobile service.
