As the drag racing eliminations continued at the O'Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 NHRA Nationals in Joliet, Illinois, only one outcome was inevitable. That outcome was that Slate Cummings was deemed the champion and claimed his third consecutive JEGS All-Stars Crown race.
