(Telecompaper) The adoption rate of connected devices such as for smart homes, for example, is still small in the Netherlands, according to a study by Telecompaper covering May and June. Only a small group of early adopters currently own a connected device such as a smart thermostat. Those aged 20-29 are among among the early adopters. Looking forward, the proportion of Dutch people thinking of buying connected devices over the coming twelve months will be higher than the number of people currently owning such a device. The developments surrounding smart home and connected devices got a boost last year, pushed by a large number of product launches by major players such as Samsung, Google and Apple. Telecompaper therefore asked almost 900 Dutch people on its Consumer Panel if they intended to buy one of seven examples of connected devices or if they already had these in their possession.
