Containing infrared LED and 2 detectors, Model SFH 7776 registers ambient brightness – even behind dark smartphone covers – and prevents unintentional responses from touchscreen during telephone calls. Digital sensor features working range up to 16 cm and does not need lenses to collect emitted IR light. In standby mode, device consumes just 0.8 µA. In addition, proximity sensor eliminates crosstalk, so separate optical barriers between IRED and detector are not needed.
