Smithfield Packing to Close Maryland Plant

US - Smithfield Packing Company, a subsidiary of Smithfield Foods, is to move bone-in ham production from its Landover, Maryland, plant to its processing plants in North Carolina and Kentucky, and then permanently close the Landover plant by the early autumn.
