In the EUMETSAT matrix organisation, the Information and Communication Technology ICT Division is responsible for providing applications and support services regarding Information and Communication Technology to the organisation. The ICT Division is a dynamic team of more than 50 technicians and engineers, which operates, manages, troubleshoots and implements changes to corporate ICT systems, including desktop and mobile IT equipment, SAP, Documentation Management Tool, EUMETSAT web sites and the intranet. What youll be doing Plan and implement the maintenance and evolution of the environments and tools used for the existing software management landscape Ensure the consistency and keep control over the baseline configuration of all the relevant layers for software operation machine, network, storage, OS, libraries, dependencies etc. Provision of support to internalexternal software development or maintenance activities in terms of software build and deployment processes, environments and tools Analysis and planning of implementation, hardware and software upgrades or reconfigurations of multimission elements in context of CSM core services Supervise and control service contractors for the building, packaging and distribution of software releases and patches on the operational systems Ensure the provision of CSM Computer and Storage Management services to internal customers in compliance with Service Level Agreements SLA Deputise for the CSM Software Librarian Team Leader as needed. Skills and Experience Requirements Proven experience in maintaining largescale computer systems in operational, highlyavailable and time critical environments Advanced knowledge in Software Configuration Control, Build, Packaging and Deployment related workflows and technologies Good understanding of automation tools and market players related to CICD and DevOps driven concepts Advanced knowledge in UNIXLinux Operating Systems and System Administration Good knowledge in network protocols and TCPIP services DHCP, PXE, SSH, SFTP Ability to prepare technical documentation in English in a complete and clear manner Good interpersonal and communication skills, combined with a proven ability to apply these to working within, and across, teams. EUMETSAT is an international organisation employing staff from across all 30 member states and this role is being advertised on multiple international job boards, but please note that this role would be based in Darmstadt, Germany and would require international applicants to relocate if successful.
