We are currently looking for a Software Engineer with a system engineering background to support the Galileo Programme team within Thales Alenia Space Deutschland. Job description We are currently looking for a Software Engineer with a system engineering background to support the Galileo Programme team within Thales Alenia Space Deutschland. The Software Engineer will be involved in an exciting new design and development project for the company. Tasks and Responsibilities System and functional understanding and analysis of user requirements in order to derive the software specification and detailed design SW implementation according to the required code quality standard, definition and execution of unit testing and documentation, support to the system testing activities Technical planning of the software development lifecycle aligned with the system development Estimation and conduction of the SW development activities Analysis and correction of anomalies raised Contribute to product software documentation. Contribute to project reporting and control for the assigned tasks and work packages. Job Requirements Degree in software, computer science or similar Proven experience in developing medium and large software systems comprising processing, simulations, timing accuracy, communication units and HMI 35 years Proven experience of network and network protocols, TCPIP 13 years Proven experience in UML language 3 years, Enterprise Architect an advantage Mandatory SW language experience C, Java, Eclipse RAP, PostgreSQL, XML 5 years Processoriented and selfsustained working style e.g. ESA, Agile principles Proficient user of GITJIRA and RHEL Linux, DOORS is a plus General knowledge of Ground and Space SW concepts, ECSS or GSWSG would be beneficial Good communication and facilitation skills, able to interrelate Fluent in German and English essential written technical reports and spoken Ability and will to travel.
