Summary We are looking for several software engineers with very good experience in Java backend development, for the development of Software Systems in the Air Traffic Management domain. These are fulltime and unlimited positions located on our customer site at DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung in Langen, Germany. Responsibilities Duties Contribute in a team to the full software development life cycle, integration and maintenance of air traffic control systems and tools developed according to the applicable quality and technical standards and used at the German Air Navigation Service Provider. Analyse User Requirements and develop concepts for SW solutions Write Software Requirements Design and Develop Software using the Java programming language and javascript for Web applications Develop manual and automatic Unit Tests Support the execution of manual and automatic system and software tests Qualifications Experience A university degree in aerospace, informatics, mathematics or physics Strong experience in software development and maintenance in Java and Java Script on Linux for Web based applications. Essential Skills At least 5 years of experience in the design of distributed applications Ideally knowledge in Microservice Architecture and development, Good knowledge of HTML5, Canvas und Web Sockets, Very good knowledge in Java Good knowledge in a further programming language, e.g. Python Good knowledge in Cloud Computing Good knowledge in Container Docker and Container Management Technologies Kubernetes Good knowledge in Communication Frameworks like ActiveMQ or Kafka Good knowledge in ITSecurity ideally OWASP Fluency in spoken and written English Desirable Skills Experience in testdriven development and test automation Experience with testing frameworks for Web applications and CICD pipelines Experience in agile methods Scrum, Kanban Experience with Gitlab Knowledge in javascript, HTML and Web application development are advantageous Fluency in spoken and written German would be an advantage
