Position Reference 056 As the Software Team Lead will be the technical lead for complex software development and system integration projects called DFMS which often have high risk e.g. due to high number of partnerssubcontractors andor involvement of high level AcademicsGovernmental stakeholders. You will lead a small team of developers, technical specialists and engineers to ensure the successful deployment and delivery of the project. The DFMS Drought and Flood Mitigation Service product will use an innovative, opensource Environment Early Warning Platform EWP to communicate with local farmers on actions to be taken throughout the growing season to maximize crop yields. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Take full responsibility and ownership for the technical definition, design, development, testing, packaging and delivery of the project solutions. Identify, assess and manage the technical risks to ensure the success of the project. Provide input to the Senior Project Manager to ensure that realistic project and quality plans are prepared and maintained. Take the lead of the technical project team, i.e. RHEA Group staff, partners and subcontractors and possibly the clients technical representative involved in the technical aspects of the project solutions development. Communicate with and report to RHEA Senior Project Manager on the project. Manage and control the projectsoftware development processes according to RHEA Group QA standards. Provide effective leadership to the project technical team, and take appropriate action where the technical team performance deviates from agreed tolerances. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a Degree in Engineering or related subject. You have a minimum of 2 years relevant technical project lead experience. You are expected to lead and work closely with the technical project team and as such shall have technical skills to actively lead and participate in technical discussions with the project team and to enable solution driven processes. You are able to demonstrate experience in the lead of technically complex and risky geographically distributed multi partystakeholder projects. You have proven successful system architecture experience. You have proven successful design, develop, test, package and delivery of complex systems and architecture solutions. You are able to design, build and support scalable, highly distributed data applications, repositories and value added applications. You have experience in design and development of distributed systems incl. networking, cloud infrastructure IaaS and development of platform PaaS. You have experience in the applied use of EO data.
