Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) Block IBs are available with threat upgrade software that enables weapon's kill vehicle to hunt down complicated targets. Ability to make improvements through software upgrades enables combatant commanders to increase ballistic missile defense capabilities without disassembly or hardware replacement. Able to destroy incoming ballistic missile threats in space using sheer impact, SM-3s incorporate 2-color IR seeker and Throttleable Divert and Attitude Control System.
