(Telecompaper) Sony has named a new CEO at its struggling mobile phone business. Hiroki Totoki, currently senior VP at Sony for corporate planning, finance and new business creation, will replace Kunimasa Suzuki from 16 November. Suzuki will become executive VP at Sony Entertainment. Suzuki has led the mobile business since 2012, when Sony bought out partner Ericsson. The company recently wrote down the value of the mobile business due to reduced growth prospects and said it was rethinking its strategy for the market. Sony said it plans to focus more on the premium segment and reduce the number of mid-range models it offers, while also reconsidering its position in certain geographic markets.
