Airbus Defence and Space is a division of Airbus Group formed by combining the business activities of Cassidian, Astrium and Airbus Military. The new division is Europes number one defence and space enterprise, the second largest space business worldwide and among the top ten global defence enterprises. It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a space composite product technical manager for its TEE53 Launcher Product Engineering department based in Les Mureaux. Within the Space Systems branch of Airbus Defence and Space, the Engineering Equipment and Services Design Office is in charge of the design and justification of space products, mainly for composite materials such as satellite antenna reflectors for which Airbus Defence and Space is European leader and launcher structures SYLDA5, dispensers, etc.. The Design Office also provides support during the manufacturing and supply of material and data packs to internal or external customers. The Engineering Equipment and Services Design Office is looking for a subsystem engineer to take complete technical responsibility for a product. As part of a dynamic team, you will ensure the technical performance of the product under your responsibility, throughout its development and manufacturing. Your main activities will consist in Implementing and improving the new product development plan steering development work related to materials and procedures, designs and digital simulations, Selecting designs and interacting directly with Methods, drawing advantage from exchanges enabled by being in the same location as Production, Justifying the definition and performance past experience, analyses or tests, Performing technical followup of production, Defining, steering and carrying out tests, Providing a technical interface to subcontractors and internal or external customers, Producing a technical summary of the overall product and coordinating the various players within the technical scope supporting other function Design Offices, CAD, etc., Following up and complying with the schedule and costs within the technical scope. Over time, also participating in replying to calls for tender and in RT activities within the scope of the product line. With short cycles lasting between 9 months and 3 years, each project will provide you with the opportunity to demonstrate leadership skills and will bring you face to face with specialised technical problems for projects, whose manufacturing you are monitoring, whilst providing a focal point for the customer. This internship provides an opportunity to acquire a good knowledge of the company and its processes, and consequently a better understanding to promote your future development. You have a higher education qualification, such as a general engineering diploma or university equivalent and you have at least 5 years of experience in the mechanical structure design domain. You are able to integrate and summarise complex issues. You have a good sense of initiative and have a convincing approach. Some experience in the composite materials and procedures domain would be a plus. With the support of all project players based on the same site production, project, quality assurance, business, etc., you demonstrate good listening skills, are meticulous, autonomous and concise.
