O3b mPOWER is SESs nextgeneration Medium Earth Orbit MEO satellitebased communication system offering highbandwidth, lowlatency data connectivity services to underserved and mobility markets. Launching in 2021, the system will begin its service life in mid2022. Building on the capabilities of our current O3b MEO system, O3b mPOWER expands exponentially to deliver thousands of dedicated services up to multiple gigabits per second. It provides more flexibility than any satellitebased system available today or planned for the foreseeable future. Are you? Eager to learn and grow within an experienced team Primary ResponsibilitiesKey Result Areas Guide the engineering design and development of the O3b mPOWER operational Inorbit calibration system Develop endtoend payload RF and command configuration test procedure algorithms Interface with MEO O3b mPOWER ground station system to design build endtoend measurement techniques for RF data processing and analysis Contribute to the O3b mPOWER payload performance analysis, to characterize and apply performance corrections to the payload phased arrays ondemand Work with O3b mPOWERs Adaptive Resource Control ARC system to integrate spacecraft payload Inorbit calibration system functionality Integrate into the Technology environment, as the O3b mPOWER payload subject matter expert Always ensure safe operations of the satellite in close collaboration with Satellite Operations Analyze all satellite malfunctions and anomalous behavior Be on call in case of an emergency and advise Satellite Operations as to necessary actions resulting from malfunctions, anomalies, or any other trends. Develop and maintain new integrated payload applications and tools required for performance monitoring, operation automation, resource optimization, and constellation performance Support and prepare for spacecraft anomalies and contingency operations, including new operational solutions, for contingency operations at spacecraft and fleetlevel Support payload mission, operations, and phasing of the MEO satellites into the constellation Support payload inorbit testing, transition, and phasing for the start of service Support the design and procurement of O3b mPOWER satellites, for spacecraft design reviews, integration, ground, and inorbit testing. Who We Are Looking For More About You In order to achieve the outcomes described above, we believe you will have the following SkillsCompetencies Commitment to deadlines and willingness to meet tight schedules Ability to work efficiently both individually and within interdisciplinary teams Ease to integrate into an international environment, operation within different locations and time zones Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to communicate clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences Fluency in English, any other language is considered as an asset Be able to provide 247 oncall support, react to contingencies, and cope with highstress situations A proven mindset of helping the team to succeed Ability to adapt to fastpaced or custom situations with innovative, effective solutions Preferred Education Experience a combination of education and experience will be considered Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, ComputerSoftware Engineering, or related spacecraft engineering fieldsdisciplines Around 5 years of professional experience in satellite engineering Thorough understanding of satellite payload subsystems, including management of all onboard equipment that is required for proper transmission of the customer signal Have a thorough understanding of Digital Transparent Processor Design, Phased Arrays, and SatCom Operations Wellversed in endtoend satellite communication systems, link budget analysis, RF measurement equipment, signal acquisition, processing, and analysis Have strong computer software skills. intermediate or advanced in analytical programming languages Python, Visual Basic andor Matlab andor Web Dev or any Web Development programming languages is a plus Familiar with data retrieval, data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence Willingness to travel domestic and internationally 20 annually Whats in it for you Flexible working policy Bonus and equity plans Comprehensive and competitive benefits plans A range of wellness activities and employee assistance programs varies by location An employer that values all aspects of Diversity and respects every individuals story The contents of this job description are subject to change.
