ispace Japan is seeking a highly motivated and talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join its team and develop tomorrows lunar exploration technologies. The ideal candidate will have a broad experience in the Mechanical design of space mechanisms and structures andor MGSE. Key Responsibilities Mechanical design of the mechanisms and structure of the lander Mechanical design of the associated MGSE Develop detailed hardware fabrication drawings assembly instructions and oversee procurement of mechanical systems Develop and test breadboard and prototype solutions Basic Requirements Hold BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of experience in the design of space applications andor MGSE Possess proven track record of developing mechanical products metallic and composite from concept to fabrication Is knowledgeable about mechanical design, material selection, and fabrication processes for spaceflight hardware Has extensive experience with CAD software packages Has Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing GDT Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Be comfortable with change and fastpace environment Proactive attitude, team player Preferred Experience Proficiency in Solidworks CAD package Design of complex mechanisms Be knowledgeable of space environmental tests Has experience with spacecraft design and integration
