Spacecraft Project Controller

The Project Controller will monitor the progress of the ispace Lunar Lander development to ensure that it is completed within the budget and schedule constraints and will generate progress reports to managers and make suggestions for improving project operations. The Spacecraft Project Controller will report to the Vice President of Spacecraft Development. The ideal candidate will have experience in complex system development, qualification and operational efforts, preferably in the aerospace industry. The effort includes all phases of development from design maturation to testing, validation and launch, as well as post flight operations. Key Responsibilities Establish and maintain the master development schedule Monitor and evaluate development progress and assess deviations relative to baseline schedule Report findings to project managers and discuss possible actions including changes to staffing plans, schedule or task adjustments Prepare Work Breakdown Structures and associated task descriptions Assist in establishing budgets required for executing different tasks and procuring products and services Establish budget forecasts and monitor expenditures and adherence to spending plans Advise on required management reserves and on managing those reserves Create, maintain and disseminate project reports Present ideas to project managers and support implementation of approved changes Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree in business administration, finance or accounting, or equivalent education and experience Five or more years experience in project control Good understanding of project management principles and development activities Previous experience in project control of complex projects involving design, manufacturing, testing and operations Ability to interface with engineering, program management, vendor and subcontractor personnel Experience with Microsoft Office, project management and accounting software Strong analytical and problem solving skills Excellent leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills Preferred Experience Masters or Ph.D. degree in business administration or a related field Experience with aerospace project planning, execution and control Specific experience in spacecraft development and operation Experience working in a multinational environment Demonstrated ability to overcome unexpected development problems and finding solutions Demonstrated ability to handle difficult supplier situations and helping resolve those situations successfully Experience supporting negotiations and discussions with partners and customers
