But even the chief executive officer for the Special Olympics Oregon program didn't know how special, until she was presented a check for $200,000 for showing up Saturday on the Nike campus outside Beaverton during the Training for Life Youth Games . Jorge Casimiro, Nike's vice president for global community impact, presented the donation to Special Olympics Oregon, in a ceremony at the games attended by 500 prospective special Olympians, their parents and guardians and 400 volunteers, most of them from Nike.
