Spirit Airlines cuts Q3 outlook, shares dip

According to regulatory filings, the decreased outlook is the result of an underpayment of federal excise taxes on fuel it bought in July 2009 through August 2014, which the airline was recently made aware of. Shares of Miramar-based Spirit fell 5.3 percent to $60.17 Wednesday on the news, and fell slightly when the markets reopened.
