Sprint employee count falls 5,000 since December

Now about to start another workforce reduction effort , the Overland Park-based carrier has about 33,000 employees - down from its reported 38,000 in December. Sprint is working to identify the best areas for layoffs as it hopes to accommodate cost cuts for subscribers' service.
