Hesperia has a history steeped in travel and new beginnings and many of the developments that took place here in the late 1880s and early 1900s paved the way for a major agriculture industry from the turn of the century well into the 1960s. During the late 1880s there was a large increase in Hesperia's population due to the newly completed railroad system.
