A group of St. Paul's West Side residents are fighting a proposal from Hawkins Inc. to build eight chemical tanks, a tank containment structure, and truck and rail loading areas at 701 Barge Channel Road. The site, owned by the St. Paul Port Authority, is across from Pig's Eye Lake, between Concord Street and the Mississippi River, north of the St. Paul Police Department's impound lot.
