Steelcase, Herman Miller see drop in big project orders

Chief executives at Steelcase and Herman Miller brought up the troubling trend during conference calls with analysts this month to discuss quarterly results. "The thing that was most pronounced was the drop in the large customers, a decline in orders from large customers and a decline in large projects," Steelcase CEO Jim Keane told analysts Dec. 22 during a call to discuss third quarter results for the 2016 fiscal year.
