Environmental Services will begin construction in your area this year on a project to modify several sumps, also called underground injection control (UIC) structures. Sumps are vertical, perforated pipes installed underground that collect stormwater runoff from streets and allow water to soak into the ground. This project will remove some sumps and adjust the depth of others to comply with state standards.
