Study: Permian Basin oil boom has sizable economic impact on Lubbock

A new report co-authored by Bradley Ewing, professor of energy economics at Texas Tech, analyzes the economic impact of the recent oil and gas boom in the Permian Basin. According to the report, titled "Economic Impact of the Permian Basin's Oil and Gas Industry," the oil and gas business has created and sustained more than 546,000 jobs and produced an economic output of about $137.8 billion.
