It has now been over 30 years that comprehensive CS solutions for space systems and applications, both on the ground and in space, have been part and parcel of this odyssey. Our german activities grow at fast pace and to face our costumers high level expectations and needs, we are looking for talented profiles having relevant experience in Space systems and applications. Tasks 1. Contribute to the definition, design, implementation and maintenance of architectures for data processing ground segments and their components with special emphasis on product quality control, calibration and validation, production monitoring and reporting. 2. Support the operations of existing data processing ground segments and their maintenance and evolution. This will also include Upgrade software, including implementing and maintaining new algorithms for product quality control and calibrationvalidation activities. 3. Perform routine tasks in operational systems under configuration control such as 3.1. Support the Configuration Management process and the building and distribution of software releases and patches 3.2. Support to the development, integration and configuration management of software developed by third parties, its installation, and configuration and testing 3.3. Anomaly investigations, documentation and classification. 3.4. Follow up of the delivery of SW resolutions for these anomalies 4. Perform standard SW engineering activities such as 4.1. SW testing in a structured approach to verify that delivered SW is fulfilling the requirements or to demonstrate that problems have been corrected. 4.2. SW integration and verification in the EUMETSAT ground segments 5. Settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures, 6. Support to the procurement and installation of software, and the coordination with external providers of support services 7. Participation in meetings and formal reviews. Profile In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Key Person shall have experience in system design, SW development, operation, maintenance and trouble shooting of large complex realtime data processing systems for meteorological satellites. The Key Person should possess very good communication, presentation and team working skills and be able to cope with very high workloads. An ability to adapt to a rapidly changing, often stressful environment and retain a system overview is also essential. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following areas is mandatory Experience of operating and maintaining software systems in a UNIX based environment specifically LINUX and AIX CC programming language experience in a UNIX based environment Use of and application programming of database systems in particular ORACLE, INFORMIX, PostgreSQL and MySQL Competence in the use of scripting languages e.g., shell scripting and highlevel languages e.g., Python, Java Knowledge of web technologies, programming and markup languages e.g. Apache, CGI, JavaScript, UML Competence in SW testing, unit test suite maintenance, automated testing, verification and validation. Fluency in English oral and written is mandatory. Due to legal requirements, applicants must be EU citizens.
