Suspect arrested in Union Pacific Railroad theft

Jarvis Lewis, 30, of Refugio, was arrested and charged with felony theft and felony evading arrest on Friday, Oct. 31. Refugio police had responded to suspicious activity at a vacant house off Shelly Street on Aug. 7 and discovered a large spool of wire valued at more than $20,000. The spool was stolen from the Union Pacific Railroad job site off Rafael Street.
