EM9301 consumes 9A A in Bluetooth Low Energy idle, and <0.5A A when 'off', and operates on as little as 0.8V. The chip is designed to work alongside a microcontroller, rather than including its processing, allowing Bluetooth to be added to applications with different processing and peripheral needs.
