Swift Affirms Third Quarter Expectations, Seeking Rate Increases

Swift Transportation has affirmed earlier expectations for a third-quarter performance of 33 cents to 37 cents adjusted earnings per share, saying its driver wage increase is having desired results. "We are pleased with the results we are experiencing thus far from the over-the-road driver wage increases that went into effect on August 4. Although this increase has only been in place for a couple of months, the feedback we have received to date from drivers has been very positive," said President and COO, Richard Stocking.
