DUTIES The postholder will initially be assigned as integrated support in the Galileo System AIV Unit, Galileo System Procurement Service, Galileo System Office, Galileo Programme Department, Directorate of Galileo and Navigation Related Activities and report to the Head of the Galileo System AIV Unit. The incumbent will be responsible for activities related to testing and verification of key functionalities of the overall Galileo system and will support the definition, organisation and execution of associated test and verification campaigns. The post will include responsibility for the following ensuring traceability between the System Design documentation requirements, DDF, etc. and the System Verification documentation RVMs, VCDs and test plans and reports defining and coordinating test plans, test cases and test procedures for system functional testing including monitoring and control, mission planning, time provision and synchronisation, and dissemination of navigation data supporting the planning of associated test campaigns in accordance with the System Integration and Verification Plan supporting the coordination and execution of test campaigns and preparing the associated test reports in support of the System Qualification Reviews following up the closure of System NCRs resulting from the tests in coordination with the Product Assurance Office ensuring proper implementation of verification information reviews, test results, engineering assessments, NCRs, etc. in the System VCDs proposing new methods, technologies and activities to be assessed in the framework of technology programmes in system verification areas participating in periodic meetings with the parent section and contributing to the transfer of technical knowledge and lessons learned across the Agency. In the execution of these duties, the postholder is expected to interface closely with the Galileo System and Segment engineering teams, the Galileo Operations team, the related industrial teams, the Test Directors and the Product Assurance Office. Since many of the activities relevant to this post will take place in the Galileo Control Centres, the incumbent must be prepared to travel on a regular basis. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree or equivalent in physics, electrical or aerospace engineering or a related field extensive experience of systemlevel testing experience in verification engineering background in space or ground system integration, testing and verification knowledge of Ground Segment and Satellite operations and infrastructure familiarity with the ECSS standards good knowledge and practice of standard informatics tools. Background and experience in navigation systems is not required but will be considered an asset. Candidates should have good interpersonal and communication skills. They should be able to work in an autonomous, effective and cooperative manner in a diverse, international team environment and to define and implement solutions in line with team objectives and project deadlines. In addition, they should have good analytical, organisational and reporting skills and a proactive attitude to solving problems. Applicants must be eligible and prepared to request security clearance from their national security administration. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these two languages is required together with a working knowledge of the other language. Knowledge of another member state language is an asset.
