LSE Space is looking for an experienced Engineer mf in order to fulfill the duty of System Engineer for our customer EUMETSAT in DarmstadtGermany. For our activities at EUMETSAT, we are currently seeking to employ a highly motivated and enthusiastic System Engineer to work with the Low Earth Orbit LEO Division on system engineering and design activities, in an exciting innovative international environment. The primary responsibilities of this role will be The position requires expert knowledge in several system engineering areas and disciplines covering requirements, architectural design and detailed definition of subsystems, and their functions, performance, interfaces and operations activities. You will carry out tasks which contribute to activities typically related to Phase CID of a space programme in the area of system design engineering, Integration, Verification and Validation, Operation preparation and performance budget management. You work with the Sentinel6JasonCS project, and give potential support to other LEO programmes. You will perform system engineering activities such as Justification of the system design including producing and maintaining any relevant analyses and budgets General contribution to system engineering activities, for example o Documentation of system design and interfaces o Contribute to system integration, verification and validation activities o Contribute to operation preparation activities o Contribute to the technical coordination with Partners o Contribute to segment level activities and reviews as required. Participate to System level formal reviews and key points. In the performance of these tasks, you shall apply the EUMETSAT configuration and change control procedures as well as the relevant system engineering standards and Quality management procedures. Ideal candidate The Key person shall have a university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks without supervision. Knowledge and experience with the following is considered mandatory At least 5 years demonstrated experience in the field of large scale systems engineering, architectural design Capability to prepare documents, to perform systemlevel analyses and to produce and maintain technical budgets. Knowledge and experience with the following is considered an advantage Experience in earth observation satellitebased projects, particularly in the areas of near real time data processing or spacecraft control systems Space and ground system engineering processes and standards. The variety of the tasks and the scope of the systems to be supported require a high degree of autonomy and good analytical skills. The Key person shall be in possession of sound interpersonal skills to conduct the responsibilities described above autonomously and without supervision, exhibiting good oral and written communications skills, analytical capabilities, and motivation. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Key person must be able to work effectively in this language. Location of work DarmstadtGermany. Travel within Europe and to the USA may be required for certain activities. Start date Tbd Benefits A permanent employment contract.
