This role can be based in either our Guildford or Newcastle office. Due to organic growth, a new, vacancy for a Deployment Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence Space. The Deployment Engineer role will suit someone with indepth technical experience or someone who is looking for a stepup in their career. Your role will be varied and working within the Software Development and Engineering teams. You will cover the deployment and configuration of our hosted solutions, either on Airbus data centre, cloud or hosted on internal and external client infrastructure. You will be working with various teams across the world and covering multiple projects and systems verifying in size and complexity. This role requires worldwide travel a couple of times a year. This role will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities. Software and deployment engineer Maintaining complex configuration across multiple systems that are critical to correct operation. Support the release flow from development through to production, and help manage the environments used in the product release process Scripting to support operation and deployment. You will also be supporting both experienced and early careers members who are domain experts in their respective fields. This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth. Essential skills Experience in a similar Applications Support Role, ideally in Hosted Services with offsite systems. Experience in a mixed OS Systems Support role you will be working with Windows, Redhat and CentOS, however other distros are considered Development and management of scripts. Configuration control Version Control Subversion, Git JBoss Wildfly including JBoss EAP 7.0 Experience with system and network security IPSIDS, firewalls, user management Any experience in the following would be of interest but not essential, as training will be provided Application architecture including distributed application development Docker, Kubernetes Ability to automate system build, configuration and deployment JenkinsHudson Management of production web services Apache, Tomcat, etc. Java, SQL and AngularJS You will also be further trained or upskilled into Ansible core Databases and database management ODBC, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, PostGIS, Oracle JBoss CLI, Vault and messaging subsystem Cloud infrastructure Google, AWS GIS, Spatial Data and OGC services and OGC standards Airbus is committed to achieving workforce diversity and creating an inclusive working environment.
