INSYEN AG is based at the German Space Operations Center GSOC in Oberpfaffenhofen, 25 km west of Munich, Germany. We currently have 52 employees andprovide engineering services related to manned and unmanned spaceflight operations in the areas of project and subcontractor management, ground systems engineering and management, LAN and WAN design and implementation, system security and data encryption, system databases, command and telemetry systems, voice and video systems, system management and operation, spacecraft systems monitoring and control and realtime space operations. Furthermore our software engineers are working on a 3D Visualisation and Simulation Software which is e.g. used for remote sensing, sensor simulations and virtual training. We are offering a permanent position as Systems Engineer for Video Start date Immediately Requirements degree in engineering or equivalent qualification and experience knowledge of video and voice distribution technologies o EncodingDecoding technologies o Basic knowledge of MPEG o Basic knowledge of Networks UDP, TCP, SNMP, MulticastUnicast etc. experience in programming e.g. Java, C, C Linux and Windows 20082012 Server Good knowledge of Microsoft office Word, Excel, Visio experience in video editing e.g. Final Cut Pro are an asset good team and presentation skills for interdiscipline interaction in an international environment fluent in written and spoken English German would be an asset The general scope of duties will include the following tasks integration and testing of the digital video systems for the Columbus project including o market research o exhibition visits e.g. IBC o negotiations with audio and video equipment developers o equipment testing o recommend purchasing options operation and maintenance of the digital video systems o fast action and decision making in case of failures during realtime operations o troubleshooting o Writing C scripts for the Video Management Tool according to new requirementschanges o support of the 247 teams by means of oncall and onsite support outside office hours during critical mission operations supporting the continuous development of the systems and updating related documentation attendance in project and subsystem meetings, often with international partners like NASA, ESA, etc. some travel might be required Please send your application along with your salary requirements to Insyen AG Attn.
