(Telecompaper) The board of directors of TIM Brasil has recommended the operator participate in the auction of 700 MHz spectrum for 4G services. The auction is scheduled for August by the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel). In a press release, TIM CEO Rodrigo Abreu said that the company wants to play an active part in the auction process, to support its strategy of developing mobile broadband across the country. TIM's board also authorised the start of a process to review proposals for outsourcing its mobile towers. The company said a spin-off of the infrastructure would better realise the assets' value and help the group save on costs.
